    At Visionary Retina Center, we are excited to welcome a medical receptionist to join our new ophthalmology/retina practice. We are looking for a highly motivated and professional individual who is hard-working, courteous, and genuinely enjoys patient care. This position offers the opportunity to start part-time with the potential to transition to full-time as we grow.  Led by a highly respected retina specialist, our practice is located in the City of Calabasas with no travel requirement to multiple offices. 
     
    Responsibilities include:
    · Welcome patients and answer phones
    · Process patient paperwork; scan & upload documents into Nextech EMR
    · Check patients in/out
    · Schedule & confirm appointments with patients
    · Respond to phone, email and online inquiries
    · Work with 3rd Party Biller to process pre-authorizations – check eligibility/verify insurance coverage
    · Correct and update data to ensure timely and accurate billing submission
    · Collect patient co-pays and balances
    · Manage general office supplies
    · Coordinate IT, vendor, and equipment service needs
    · Enter data into Nextech EMR: such as appointments, cancellations, referring providers, etc.
    · Maintain/update patient information in Nextech EMR
    · Maintain a clean and organized reception area and waiting room
    · Assist with exam rooms maintenance and stock and document inventory
    · Pickup mail daily and process
    · Participate in cross-training or other company-required training
    · Assist physician as requested
    · Adherence to HIPAA requirements
    · Responsibilities are subject to change at the discretion of the Company

    Job Qualifications:
    · Education: High school diploma or equivalent or vocational education and training
    · Experience: 1+ year experience in a medical practice (ophthalmology/retina) preferred
    · Knowledge of verification process and insurances; understanding the requirements of various plans preferred.

    Skills:
    · Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    · High attention to detail
    · Experience with health care management systems; Nextech experience preferred
    · MS Office
    · Ease with using computers, printers, scanners and other technical equipment
    · Strong work ethic, empathy towards patients and motivated to deliver excellent service
    · Exceptional multi-tasking skills
    · Ability to work as a team

    Job Type: Part-time

    • Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
    • Expected hours: 8 – 12 per week
