Chairman’s Message
As of January 1, 2012 I will begin serving our local business community in a new capacity – I will become the new Chairman of the Board for the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce. Having been with the Chamber for the past 7 years and having worked with four different Chairmen during this time, I know that I have big shoes to fill. I’d like to thank Brenda Johnson, Kimberly Bordonaro, Doug Ridley and Stephanie Warren for their service and assure them that I will not let them down!
My name is Elena Yasno. I live in Calabasas and run my own boutique travel design company called Lenka Traveler. I’ve come a long way from arriving into this country as a Soviet refugee in the 1970’s, becoming a successful software entrepreneur, raising two amazing young men, visiting almost 100 countries, and achieving the new level of success with the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce.
As I assume the Chairman’s gavel, I have a lot of ideas and a chock-full of enthusiasm to make 2012 one of the most successful years for the Chamber and the Calabasas business community. The Calabasas Chamber of Commerce and I are making a promise to our members that they will see a well-defined value being a member of this Chamber.
I’m especially excited turning my plans into reality knowing I have the full support of the wonderful people who serve selflessly on our Board of Directors. In fact, I’d like to dedicate the next year to all of our volunteers who wholeheartedly participate in the Chamber events and work on committees.
I also want to welcome the new CEO of the Chamber, Bridget Karl, and thank her for the countless hours she dedicates to the smooth running of this complex organization.
Thank you all and please, please, please – feel free to contact me about any issue you’d like to discuss. I am always available via the telephone, e-mail, Facebook, Tweeter – you name it!
I look forward to hearing from each and every one of you.
Yours,
Elena Yasno
